Myanmar Crushes Timor-Leste by 10 Wickets in Bali Bash Blitz

Udayana Cricket Ground, Bali, November 7, 2025 — Myanmar delivered a cricketing masterclass today, securing a dominant and record-setting 10-wicket victory over Timor-Leste in the Bali Bash International Rising East Asia Tri-Series. The match was a demonstration of superior bowling and explosive batting from the Myanmar side, who steamrolled their opponents and chased down the target in less than four overs.

The tone for the day was set early as Timor-Leste, having won the toss and elected to bat first, found themselves immediately struggling against a sharp and disciplined Myanmar bowling attack. The Timor-Leste innings quickly descended into a procession of wickets, with batsmen unable to cope with the consistent line, length, and spin variations.

The collapse was dramatic. Timor-Leste’s highest individual score was a mere 8 runs from Nazmul Huda, who consumed 18 balls in a valiant but futile effort to anchor the innings. Five batsmen failed to get off the mark, highlighting the utter dominance of the Myanmar bowlers. The entire team was dismissed for a paltry 32 runs in just 11.4 overs.

The star of the bowling performance was the opening attack, with Ko Ko Lin Thu and Htet Lin Oo leading the demolition. Ko Ko Lin Thu was particularly effective, returning stunning figures of 3 wickets for just 7 runs from his four overs, completely stifling the middle order. He was ably supported by Htet Lin Oo, who claimed a spectacular 3 wickets for 19 runs, ensuring Timor-Leste never had a moment to breathe. The unplayable bowling of Thuya Aung was also notable, recording an incredibly economical spell, including a maiden over.

Facing a minimal target of 33, Myanmar’s openers, Htet Lin Oo and Ko Ko Lin Thu, transformed the run chase into a thrilling power-hitting exhibition. Determined to finish the game quickly and boost their net run rate, the pair unleashed a flurry of boundaries from the very first over. Htet Lin Oo, fresh from his bowling exploits, was particularly aggressive, smashing three boundaries on his way to a match-winning, unbeaten 21 runs off just 13 balls. Ko Ko Lin Thu played a strong supporting role, guiding the team home.

The pair brought up the winning runs in the 3.4th over, sealing a historic 10-wicket victory that sent a strong message to the other teams in the Tri-Series. The comprehensive nature of the win underscores Myanmar’s growing stature in East Asian cricket, proving their clinical efficiency in converting opportunities into dominant performances.

For Timor-Leste, the match served as a harsh lesson in the demands of international competition, marking their second heavy defeat in the series. They will need to regroup quickly and address their batting frailties if they are to be competitive in their upcoming fixtures.

Myanmar’s players, however, will bask in the glory of a perfect victory—a performance defined by controlled aggression and tactical superiority—setting them up well for the remainder of the Bali Bash tournament.
